Host, rooms, and loot

Enter Cyberspace to the left of the bar counter, let the host set difficulty, rules, and Fates, and revive a ghost for half a heart or shield.

The quoted multiplayer entry says the connection is peer to peer and the host acts as the server. Only the host can change difficulty, rules, and Fates. Players may split across rooms, except boss rooms, challenge rooms, and descending portals, which need the full squad.

Each player collects pickups independently. Boss Rooms and Artifact Rooms allow one Artifact each. Other room types stay unrestricted in that quote.

Ghost form and the chat conflict

On death the agent enters Ghost Form. A teammate spends half a heart or shield to revive them, or the ghost self-revives by collecting hearts or shields. The quote spells shields as shileds. Ghost Form can use activated portal stones and is blocked from unexplored rooms.

An earlier developer post, gid 1839676055885340, says free chat was removed for age rating and UK chat-law reasons, with emotes as the replacement. The 1.0 codex quote on the capydb page says players can use in-game emotes or text chat. Both statements are printed here. This site did not play the build to see which line the menu shows.

If you get stuck

A ghost that cannot walk into a dark room matches the quoted limit on unexplored rooms. Use an activated portal stone or wait for a revive. The host can remove a player; the quote says malicious grabbing can get you kicked.
